Roast by Alex Smith - 7.30pm, Monday 31st March, Upstairs @ North London Tavern

This is a play about the lies a family keeps to hold itself together; it is about the dark cloud of terminal illness pulling at the seams of three siblings struggling to contemplate a world without their mother; it is about a son unable to forgive his father for an act of betrayal years ago.  It’s described by our mentor as laugh out loud funny.

ROAST is Alex's first play, and is inspired by the often fractious and unspoken tensions that exist between fathers and sons.  As well as writing poetry, Alex has taken numerous playwriting courses as he seeks to become a better, more thoughtful and well-rounded writer.
