Player Playwrights new short play contest: A STROKE OF LUCK

Player Playwright Members need to sharpen their pens and get to work on their entries to our latest short play contest, which this time is on the theme of A STROKE OF LUCK

Readings of the short play entries chosen will take place on Zoom on Monday 10th July and, as always, the winners will be chosen by our fellow Members.

The rules are as follows:

Entries from PP members only, to be emailed to competitions secretary, Giles Armstrong, at gkarmstrong@ukhome.net by Monday 26th June at the latest.

Reading time for each entry must not exceed ten minutes or fall short of five, to avoid disqualification. Scripts to include two to four characters (of either sex) with a list of their names. The author's name must not appear. Authors may suggest casting, but the final choice will be at the discretion of casting secretary, Lynne O'Sullivan.

Authors may have ONE read-through with the cast, and give brief notes. Authors are responsible for arranging this themselves via their own Zoom facility.

The cast are asked not to reveal the names of authors, so that as far as possible these are not known. Only the first ten entries received will be accepted for the competition but we may be able to arrange readings of surplus scripts on another occasion.

The script submitted to Giles will be the final one. No amendment of scripts will be permitted. Score sheets will be emailed prior to the competition and must be returned to Lynne by Friday 14th July. Authors are not permitted to vote for their own entry.

Good luck!

Lynne & Giles PP Competitions
